Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses hypnosis to help individuals achieve positive changes in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation, characterised by alpha-theta brainwaves.

  • I am certified in Holistic Healing Hypnosis (HHHypnosis) - this is an Integrative Hypnotherapy which is designed to go down to the root cause of the issue and clear up any stuck emotions that is keeping you blocked in your life today.

The HHHypnosis process is multi-dimensional, depending on what the client needs.  This inner-work may include shadow-work, inner child-work, emotional release, correcting & upgrading beliefs relating to the self and to the world at large, and more.

  • Each session is 3 hours.

We will begin with 30-40 mins of pre-talk to identify the blocks you are experiencing and would like to resolve.

The hypnosis portion will last for about 1.5-2 hours long, followed by a quick de-brief.

  • During Hypnosis, you will be in a state of relaxation. You will be lying on a chair or mattress, and we will be in a continuous dialogue throughout the whole session.

This relaxation can be similar to the feeling you experience when you are deeply absorbed in a book or daydreaming.

  • It depends on the topic and yourself. Usually by 1 session, you will already experience a significant shift and difference.

More complex topics such as cPTSD, Addiction, Chronic Depression or Anxiety may require 2-6 sessions.

  • During Hypnosis, you will be in a state of relaxation. This relaxation can be similar to the feeling you experience when you are deeply absorbed in a book or daydreaming.

You will be fully aware of what is happening around you, and of your own thoughts and sensations.

You are always in control during hypnosis. You cannot be forced to do anything against your will, and you can choose to stop the session at any time.

  • Most individuals with normal cognitive functions can he hypnotised.

The state of hypnosis is characterized by alpha-theta brainwave state.

Alpha waves (8-12 Hz) and theta waves (4-7 Hz) are the primary brainwave frequencies observed during the alpha-theta state.

Alpha waves are associated with relaxed, wakeful states, while theta waves are linked to deep relaxation, creativity, and access to subconscious memories.

This occurs naturally to us during our everyday activities such as before and after sleeping, moments of daydreaming, going on walks, engaging in creative activities such as painting, writing, or playing musical instruments, driving.

  • Hypnotherapy works on most individuals with normal cognitive functions. However, there are certain exceptions:

    • Individuals with epilepsy or a history of seizures

    • Individuals with serious cardiovascular conditions

    • Individuals with impaired cognitive functions

    • Individuals currently under the influence of alcohol or substances

    • Individuals suffering from schizophrenia or psychosis

    • Children below the age of 15

  • Therapy sessions carry both benefits and risks. Therapy sessions can significantly reduce the amount of distress someone is feeling, improve relationships, and/or resolve other specific issues. However, these improvements and any “cures” cannot be guaranteed for any condition due to the many variables that affect these therapy sessions.

During the therapy session, experiencing uncomfortable feelings, physical unease, and discussing unpleasant situations, memories and/or aspects of your life are considered part of the therapy session and are considered risks of the therapy session.

After the session, there is typically and integration period where uncomfortable feelings may still be felt, and/or physical discomfort and unease may occur (for example, this may include fatigue, headaches and feeling emotionally sensitive). These are also considered risks of the therapy session. This integration period typically last for up to 2 days after the session date. Full integration can be expected 7-11 days after the session date.
